Why did you choose to attend UE?
I chose to attend UE because of the tight-knit community I immediately noticed when I walked onto campus. Since I attended a smaller high school where I had the opportunity to develop personable relationships not only with my peers but also with my professors, I was excited to feel a similar atmosphere when I visited. Additionally, I chose to attend UE for its eight-year combined Baccalaureate to Doctor of Medicine program with IU School of Medicine.
What was your college visit experience like?
I did visit campus before choosing UE. When I visited, I noticed how everyone seemed to know each other. I could immediately sense the small-knit community. At UE, people knew you, and you weren’t just a number. Moreover, when meeting with the Department of Biology, I noticed how the professors truly cared about everyone's success in the classroom. Moreover, the professors had a personal relationship with the students, which was essential to me for my education.
What activities or organizations have you been involved with at UE? How have these impacted your college career?
At UE, I have had the opportunity to immerse myself in many meaningful organizations. In my freshman year, I served as Zeta Tau Alpha’s Diversity Chair and Student Government Association representative. Moreover, I am grateful to be an Orientation Leader where I have the chance to work with other amazing individuals and guide incoming freshmen through a difficult transition in their lives. I am also involved with Aces Haven, UE’s on-campus food pantry, as well as the Chemistry Club.
How has your program shaped and prepared you for a future career?
I am grateful to be a part of UE’s B/MD program. It is evident that the professors are committed to providing us with a quality education that will only prepare us for a career in medicine. Moreover, there are many opportunities to conduct undergraduate research with professors, as well as clinical and community service opportunities. In addition, I have had the chance to build close relationships with many individuals in my cohort.
How has UE been affordable for you?
UE has been affordable to me because of the scholarships I hold through the B/MD program and the Honors program. Along with the quality education and the clear time and investment the professors pour into their students, I was sure UE was the right place for me.
Why do you recommend UE?
I recommend UE because I have noticed how hard-working and determined the students are at this University. The professors at UE genuinely care about each student’s success and push you to put forth your best effort. Moreover, even if you are struggling, you can rely on the close, tight-knit community UE offers.
